The story

A young couple bound by a seemingly ideal love, begins to unravel as unexpected opportunities spin them down a volatile and violent path and threaten the future they had always imagined.

What it’s like

Naturalistic handheld camera that stays close to faces, with warm, slightly grainy digital images of apartments, dim bars and sunlit suburban streets. Much of it plays in soft interior light and late-evening amber, with long unhurried takes that let silences sit between the couple. The score is sparse and understated, so the sound design of traffic, phones and ambient room tone carries most of the mood. The vibe is intimate and quietly anxious, a slow drift from tenderness toward unease, suited to a late night alone or a reflective evening when you want something emotionally grounded rather than escapist. Pacing is measured, and the emotional register is raw and conversational, following a young couple whose devotion is tested as their choices start to pull them apart. Intensity is moderate: there are arguments, emotional cruelty and a few sudden flashes of physical violence, but it is brief and not gory, and the dread comes from relationship tension more than spectacle. It suits viewers who enjoy character-driven relationship dramas by women filmmakers and can handle an unsettling, bruising second half.
