The story

During a chase inside a museum, Tom and Jerry find an ancient magical compass and end up being transported through time. Lost in a distant era, they will need to work together to find a way back home.

What it’s like

Bright, busy cartoon energy with the chase at its centre: slapstick cat-and-mouse rhythm, quick physical gags, and a museum setting full of old relics and curiosities. The fantasy-adventure side brings in an ancient magical object and a wider, unfamiliar world, so the mood moves from playful to a little wondrous and lost. The pacing is brisk and comic, with breathers for the two leads to bicker and cooperate. Its emotional register is light and warm, with the old rivalry softening into partnership. The cartoon violence is the familiar, bruising-but-harmless kind of Tom and Jerry mischief, with no gore, no real menace and no frightening sequences, so it sits comfortably with younger viewers. It suits a family afternoon, a kids' movie night, or a lighthearted watch when you want something silly and easy to follow. It is for people who enjoy classic slapstick, gentle time-travel adventure, and the pleasure of an old duo getting back on track together.
