The story

Thinking he can overshadow an unknown actress in the part, an egocentric actor unknowingly gets a witch cast in an upcoming television remake of the classic show "Bewitched".

What it’s like

Bright, glossy studio comedy in saturated primary colours: sunlit Los Angeles soundstages, pastel suburban sets dressed for a 1960s sitcom, and a cheerful, polished digital sheen that never gets gritty. The camera moves with brisk, sitcom-style cutting, leaning into two-shots, reaction close-ups and set-piece gags, while the magic is rendered with bouncy, playful effects, twinkling noses and flying household objects. The score is buoyant orchestral pop with light jazz touches, and the dialogue crackles with quick back-and-forth banter. The vibe is breezy, self-aware and warm, a light romantic farce about vanity and sincerity that suits a lazy weekend afternoon, a comfort rewatch, or background company while tidying up. The pacing is quick and slapstick-friendly, the tone sweetly satirical about Hollywood, and the central arc follows a vain, self-absorbed star slowly learning to care about someone real. Entirely gentle: some mild slapstick and bickering, no violence, no sexual content, no real fear or cruelty. Made for viewers who want a playful, feel-good romantic comedy with a knowing wink at showbiz.
