The story

An unexpected pregnancy complicates the lives of two families. The series centers around Oly, an ambitious and high-achieving teenage girl who has a surprise baby.

What it’s like

Sun-bleached Australian suburbs in bright daytime light, with school corridors, cluttered kitchens, and backyards that feel lived-in rather than styled. The palette leans warm and natural, and the camera stays close and conversational, so the awkward family dinners and hallway confrontations land with a wry, human ease. Sound is mostly everyday life: voices over one another, school bells, a light score that steps back for the quieter moments. The vibe is warm and candid, with comedy and drama sitting side by side, suited to a lazy weekend binge or an easy evening after a long week. Pacing is brisk and episodic, and the emotional arcs follow a teenager trying to hold her ambitions together as her world reshapes around her, alongside the parents and friends pulled into the same upheaval. Intensity is low: no violence or gore, little fear, and sexual content limited to its premise, with the tension coming from emotional strain and social friction. It suits viewers who want honest family drama with humour and no danger, especially those drawn to Australian coming-of-age stories.
