The story

A surreal take on transitioning from 20-something to 30-something centering on a married couple juggling such everyday challenges as parenthood, friendship, ham theft, stripper clowns and choosing the right day care.

What it’s like

Loose, flat-colored 2D animation with a scratchy, hand-drawn wobble, the kind of cartoon that looks scrawled on paper and then tinted in bright, slightly washed-out palettes: cramped suburban kitchens, cluttered living rooms, pastel-soft backgrounds that lurch into sudden surreal distortion. Cuts are quick and punchy, with a sitcom rhythm built on overlapping dialogue and absurd asides, while the sound is a mix of jaunty library music, squelchy cartoon effects and deadpan voice work. The vibe is scruffy, irreverent and mildly anxious, the feeling of a weeknight spent half-tired on the couch, laughing at something you shouldn't. It suits a late-night binge, a lazy weekend with the sound up, or a cheap laugh after a hard day. Intensity is moderate: crude humor, sexual jokes and innuendo, bodily gags, mild cartoon peril and a handful of raunchy scenes, with no real gore and little that is truly cruel. Its arc follows a bickering married couple learning to keep going as adult responsibilities pile up. It is for adults who enjoy irreverent, dysfunctional-family comedy and want something that feels recognisably messy and mature.
