The story

When an aspiring young artist is forced to join her high school track team, she uses it as an opportunity to pursue the girl she's been harboring a long-time crush on. But she soon finds herself falling for an unexpected teammate and discovers what real love feels like.

What it’s like

Bright, saturated suburban sunlight with a sunny, candid look: warm afternoon light on school hallways, track lanes and sun-washed sports fields, bright lockers and pastel sketchbook pages, handheld camera that stays close to its teenagers in quick, energetic cuts. The palette runs sunny yellows and sky blues with a painterly, hand-drawn flourish in the art sequences, and the score is upbeat pop with bouncy synth and guitar that eases into softer, wistful tones in the quieter scenes. It has a playful, bubbly vibe that suits a lazy weekend afternoon, a comfort watch, or a cheerful evening in. Pacing is brisk and chatty, with lots of dialogue, running jokes and small-scale embarrassments, and the emotional register stays light and warm while still taking adolescent longing seriously. The central arc follows a shy, creative teen who tangles her feelings between two classmates, moving from scheming to honest vulnerability. Intensity is low: mild teenage drinking, some kissing and crushes, and light language, with no violence and only tame romantic content. It suits viewers who want a sweet, funny coming-of-age romance with queer characters and sports-team warmth.
