The story
Dexter, a boy-genius with a secret laboratory, constantly battles his sister Dee Dee, who always gains access despite his best efforts to keep her out, as well as his arch-rival and neighbor, Mandark.
What it’s like
Bright, flat-colour cartoon look: clean ink outlines, saturated primary palettes, and a suburban house that splits into a gleaming, gadget-lined lab with blue-white glow and sterile tile. Camera work is simple and snappy, with quick cuts, exaggerated squash-and-stretch motion and punchy comic timing rather than moody lighting. Sound is bouncy and brassy, with cartoon sound effects, playful incidental music and sharp voice performances doing most of the emotional work. The vibe is zany, cheerful and self-contained, best for a Saturday-morning mood or a lighthearted comfort rewatch, and it suits background watching while doing something else because each short episode resolves quickly. Pacing is brisk and the register is broad comedy with a warm, bickering sibling core: a clever kid who wants his space to himself and a sister who refuses to stay out of it. Intensity is mild: slapstick, cartoon explosions, gadget mishaps and villainous scheming, with no gore and little real menace. It is for families, fans of classic animated comedy, and anyone who wants something light, fast and bright.
