The story

Kate lives a secluded life—until her troubled daughter shows up, frightened and covered in someone else's blood. As Kate unravels the shocking truth, she learns just how far a mother will go to try to save her child.

What it’s like

Muted, overcast daylight over open pasture, barns and a worn farmhouse, with a palette of greys, dull greens and warm lamplight indoors. The camera tends to hold on faces and empty rural space, so dread builds from stillness rather than spectacle. Sound leans on wind, hooves and the quiet of a country house, with tension pulled tight by an unsettling score. The mood is bleak and watchful, a slow-burn psychological thriller where money strain and family fracture press on every room. Its intensity is moderate: drug use and dealing, addiction, and a few sharp, brief moments of violence, with the danger felt more than shown in gore. A gripping pick for a quiet night in when you want suspense that stays grounded, and for viewers drawn to fraught mother-and-daughter drama, desperate choices, and a thriller that lingers in its atmosphere.
