The story
Kintaro Oe is a 25-year-old boy who left Tokyo University and now lives a simple life, traveling by bicycle to learn everything he can about the world.
What it’s like
Bright, saturated cel-animation with clean linework and sunny hues: open road under high summer skies, rural towns with washed-out signage, a bicycle always moving through the frame. The mood is loose and bouncy, a cheerful sex-comedy energy with a light, rambling adventure underneath, the kind of show that drifts from one gag to the next. Pacing is brisk and episodic, with quick cuts, exaggerated reaction faces, and a busy, upbeat score built on jaunty pop-style cues that leans into slapstick timing. Its people are a free-spirited drifter who keeps running into odd, lovable characters and getting into trouble, so the arc is more about wandering and self-discovery than any single story. Intensity runs to frequent fan-service nudity, suggestive innuendo and crude sexual humour, with comic violence and mild peril in the slapstick, but nothing gory or truly cruel. Not suited to anyone wanting gentle, sexual-content-free viewing. For fans of cheeky, freewheeling anime comedy and easygoing travel-adventure with a broad, goofy streak.
