The story
A group of unwitting teens are stranded near a strange wax museum and soon must fight to survive and keep from becoming the next exhibit.
What it’s like
Glossy digital horror lit in sickly, candy-warm tones: the Louisiana night is humid and swampy, a stalled highway glows under sodium lamps, and inside the museum the wax figures catch flickering bulb-light so their glassy skin seems to breathe. Camera work is restless and handheld during chases, with quick cuts and frequent close-ups on faces and hands, then pulls back to frame the eerie, perfectly posed tableaux. The score leans on pounding synth-and-strings stings with bursts of silence before a jump scare. Vibe: campy, loud, sweaty slasher fun with a sheen of unease. Violence is frequent and graphic, with gore and murder scenes that show bodies being mutilated and dipped in wax, plus some tense peril and screaming; sexual content is minimal. It suits a late-night watch with friends or a Friday-night thrill, for people who want a remake-style slasher with gross-out kills, a trapped-in-the-dark setting, and a young heroine who fights back.
