The story

Yuta Okkotsu is a nervous high school student who is suffering from a serious problem—his childhood friend Rika has turned into a curse and won't leave him alone. Since Rika is no ordinary curse, his plight is noticed by Satoru Gojo, a teacher at Jujutsu High, a school where fledgling exorcists learn how to combat curses. Gojo convinces Yuta to enroll, but can he learn enough in time to confront the curse that haunts him?

What it’s like

Saturated, kinetic animation with bold inked outlines, glossy neon-bright school grounds, and cursed energy rendered as bruised violet and black smoke that bleeds into the frame. Fight sequences are fast and fluid, with sharp cuts and whip-pan camera moves, then pull back to quieter, lamplit night scenes where the color drains toward cold blue. The score swings between driving percussion and swelling strings, with sudden silences before the impacts. Its vibe is high-energy melancholy: a rush of spectacle over a lonely, tender core about a boy who is slowly haunted by his own past. The pacing is brisk and escalating, with emotional beats landing hard in the final act. Violence is frequent and graphic, with bloody injuries, grisly curse designs, and at least one death that lands with real weight, though it stays stylized rather than lingering on gore. It suits a late-night watch with the lights low, or a friend who wants big action with a heartbreaking friendship at its center. It is for viewers who enjoy stylish, emotionally driven action and do not mind a dark, bloody edge.
