The story

First year high schooler Junta Shiraishi is a mob character who goes unnoticed even when he's standing right next to you. But his classmate, "heroine-level beauty" Kubo, always notices him and is there to tease him. Anyone can become special to someone, but it might be a little too early to call these feelings "love." Perhaps this story is still two-steps from being a romantic comedy--let's call it a sweet comedy where a background character becomes visible!

What it’s like

Bright, airy daylight fills the classrooms and school corridors, with soft pastel colors and clean, simple line animation that lets the faces do the work. Comic timing carries most of the scenes: quick cuts, exaggerated expressions, and small pauses that stretch a glance into a joke. The score is light and bouncy, with plenty of gentle silence between teasing exchanges. The mood is warm, playful, and low-stakes, with a faint tingle of early crush that never tips into drama. Its rhythm suits an easy afternoon, a background episode while doing chores, or a light comfort rewatch. Each episode is short and breezy, and the emotional arc is a quiet one: an overlooked boy slowly becoming noticed by someone who won't stop paying attention. There is no violence, no sexual content, and nothing frightening; the most intense moment is an awkward, flustered blush. It is made for viewers who want something sweet, funny, and unhurried, a school-life comedy that feels like a soft, friendly hug.
