The story

A political drama set in Bihar of 1990's, this story shows how an illiterate woman handles the state as Chief Minister. Rani Bharti's life takes an interesting turn when her husband Bheem Singh Bharti, announces her as the next chief minister of Bihar. With casteism and traditional satraps in the background, will Rani survive this turn of events?

What it’s like

Dusty ochre streets, crowded government offices and sweaty rally grounds under a hard afternoon sun, with warm tungsten interiors where the power games play out in close, cramped rooms. The camera stays close to faces and lingers in arguments, and the sound is full of voices, jeeps, crowds and loudspeakers, with little quiet. The vibe is busy, sharp and politically wry, the kind of series to settle into for a long weekend binge or a focused evening when you want a story with bite. Its pacing is brisk and episodic, built on rising stakes, backroom deals and reversals, and its emotional register swings between dry comedy and genuine dread. The central arc follows a woman with no formal education who is pushed into power and must learn its rules while the men around her underestimate her, a slow shift from being managed to asserting herself. Intensity is moderate: political violence and a few sudden killings, with blood shown but not lingered on, plus crude language, caste-based cruelty and some sexual innuendo. It suits viewers who want a grounded political drama with humour and a strong lead performance, not gentle viewing.
