The story

Raghu and Zoya are enjoying their lives together until a gang leader with harmful intentions turns their world upside down.

What it’s like

Glossy, saturated Bollywood frames built for the big screen: sodium-orange streetlight and smoky dim rooms in the back-alley scenes, bright primary colours and wide choreographed dance staging in the musical numbers, with the camera swinging between tight close-ups on faces and sweeping crane shots of crowds. The score is loud and percussive, with orchestral swells, dhol-driven beats and synth stings, so the quieter romantic beats stand out by contrast. The mood is high-gloss melodrama, romantic and emotionally heightened, with a steady undercurrent of menace from a crime-world storyline. Violence is stylised action, with gunfights, brawls and choreographed beatings, rather than graphic gore, but it is frequent and sometimes harsh, and there is some cruelty toward its characters. Pacing is brisk, with songs breaking up the action at regular intervals. Its arcs follow a couple whose happiness is threatened and who fight to protect what they have. This suits viewers who want big, dramatic, music-forward escapism on a Friday night, and it's better for those comfortable with heightened action than for anyone seeking something gentle or low-stakes.
