The story
Hiro, severely overworked, can barely function outside his toxic workplace. When he encounters Kai, a childhood friend he had once promised to marry, he finds he is steadily regaining a sense of purpose - yet Kai's motives remain unclear.
What it’s like
Quiet, emotionally weighted drama in a miniseries format, with the register of a tired weeknight that slowly loosens. The mood sits between weary and tender: exhaustion, sleeplessness and a worn-down workplace give way to the warmth of cooking, old friendship and a longing that has waited years. Its tensions are mostly emotional rather than physical, and the pacing suits viewers who want to sit with a slow, reflective story across several episodes. Its central figure is a man rebuilding a sense of purpose through a lingering bond with someone from his past, while the other person's intentions stay deliberately unclear. It suits a rainy evening, a late night when sleep won't come, or anyone drawn to first love, found family and the quiet hope of being seen again. Viewers looking for fast plotting or large-scale spectacle will find something smaller and more intimate here.
