The story

When he starts dating drop-dead gorgeous Molly, insecure airport security agent Kirk can't believe it. As his friends and family share their doubts about the relationship lasting, Kirk does everything he can to avoid losing Molly forever.

What it’s like

Bright, flat suburban daylight and warm interiors, the kind of unpolished 2010 studio-comedy look where backyard barbecues, party basements and a Pittsburgh airport terminal are lit evenly and shot in plain medium frames with quick cuts between reaction faces. The sound is pop-rock needle drops and a bouncy, unobtrusive score, with dialogue crowded in over itself during group scenes. The vibe is breezy, sarcastic and warm, a comedy that plays best on a lazy weekend afternoon, as background during a long-haul flight, or for a comfort rewatch with friends. Pacing is brisk and talky, with jokes landing in rapid succession and most scenes ending on a crude punchline before the next one starts. Its emotional core is a self-conscious guy slowly learning to trust that someone great might actually want him, with his friends' teasing and his own nerves providing most of the tension. Intensity is low to moderate: frequent crude sexual humour, profanity, some gross-out gags and awkward nudity-adjacent jokes, but no real violence, gore or cruelty beyond ribbing. It suits viewers who want a raunchy, good-natured romcom with a loser-underdog heart and little darkness, and it is not a choice for anyone seeking something gentle and wholesome.
