The story
Inseparable best friends AJ and Moose decide to run the local pool's snack shack after their plan to sell home-brewed beer goes down the drain. Things take a turn when they meet Brooke, an effortlessly cool lifeguard who puts their big plans, and friendship, at risk.
What it’s like
Sun-bleached summer heat and chlorine-blue water set the mood, with a nostalgic VHS-tinged softness that suggests a faded, analog look rather than glossy digital sheen. The vibe is easygoing and goofy, with a touch of wistful coming-of-age ache, the kind of warm, low-key comedy that fits a lazy afternoon, a long weekend, or a nostalgic rewatch with friends. Its pace is loose and conversational, built around banter, schemes that go sideways, and the shifting pull of a new crush on a close friendship. The emotional register stays light and affectionate, with the two leads' bond at its core and the stakes feeling more personal than dramatic. Intensity is mild: teen-comedy friction, a bully figure, gambling and drinking as plot textures, and no graphic violence or sexual content. It suits viewers who want a playful, sun-drenched coming-of-age story about friendship, first crushes, and youthful overreach, with nothing harsh to sit through.
