The story

Stardew Valley Expanded is a fanmade expansion for ConcernedApe's Stardew Valley. This mod adds 27 new NPCs, 50 locations, 260 character events, 27 fish, reimagined vanilla areas, two farm maps, a reimagined world map reflecting all changes, new music, questlines, objects, crops, festivals, and many miscellaneous additions!

What it’s like

Pixel-art fields and town squares in warm, saturated greens, sky blues and sunset oranges, shifting through a day-night cycle and four seasons, with the chunky, deliberately retro charm of a 2D farming sim. Sessions unfold at a relaxed, unhurried pace: planting, fishing at dawn, crafting small improvements, wandering between new areas and chatting with townsfolk whose routines fill the calendar. The soundtrack is light and looping, with mellow pastoral and fairground-tinged tunes that suit a rainy Sunday or background play while doing something else. Tone is warm, low-stakes and wholesome, with romance handled through gentle dating-sim conversations and gift-giving rather than drama. Mining brings brief, cartoonish combat against slimes and bats, with no gore and little real threat. Good for players who want a comfort game with plenty to explore and a steady sense of progress, and for anyone who loves cozy life-sim routines and a story that builds slowly around a community.
