The story

The kingdom is in a festive mood as everyone gathers for the royal wedding of Rapunzel and Flynn. However, when Pascal and Maximus, as flower chameleon and ring bearer, respectively, lose the gold bands, a frenzied search and recovery mission gets underway. As the desperate duo tries to find the rings before anyone discovers that they’re missing, they leave behind a trail of comical chaos that includes flying lanterns, a flock of doves, a wine barrel barricade and a very sticky finale. Will Maximus and Pascal save the day and make it to the church in time? And will they ever get Flynn’s nose right?

What it’s like

Lush, sun-warmed CG animation in the painterly style of Tangled, with lantern-strung streets, pastel bunting and golden-hour light washing over a festive castle courtyard. The camera swoops and tracks through crowded wedding preparations, but the palette stays soft and bright. The soundtrack leans on bouncy orchestral fanfare and sprightly strings, with bird chatter and exaggerated slapstick effects keeping the sound playful. The vibe is cheerful, silly and sweet, well suited to a short, easy watch on a lazy afternoon, a family viewing, or light background entertainment. Pacing is brisk and comic, built around a chase in which two animal companions stumble from one mishap to the next, and the emotional register stays warm and uncomplicated, celebrating a happy couple and loyal friendship. Intensity is very low: slapstick tumbles and messy gags, with no violence, scares or real peril. Made for families with young children and for fans of Tangled who want a playful, low-stakes extra adventure.
