The story
Two high school enemies, uber-jock Harry and out-and-proud Sam, are forced to share a car ride to their Missouri hometown for a friend's engagement party on Valentine's Day. Things take a turn when Sam learns Harry has come out.
What it’s like
Bright, cheerful daylight and bouncy pop-score energy carry this queer teen romcom, with the road-trip setting giving it a wide, open Midwestern feel: cornfields, roadside diners, a dashboard lit by winter sun. Shot in a crisp, made-for-TV style with clean compositions and plenty of close two-shots inside the car, it trades grit for warmth and a steady, sweet-natured pace. The vibe is light, playful and affectionate, with a Valentine's Day glow that suits a cozy afternoon, a comfort watch on a snowy evening, or a laugh-filled night in. Its emotional register runs from teasing rivalry toward tender openness, following two stubborn boys slowly dropping their guards and admitting what they've hidden. Intensity is low: some profanity, teen-level kissing and innuendo, and no real violence or cruelty beyond the sting of old schoolyard grudges. It is made for viewers who want a gentle, heartfelt queer romance with humour and small-town sincerity.
