The story

When a group of Indian and Pakistani nurses are held hostage in Iraq by a terrorist organization, a renowned Indian secret agent is drawn out of hiding to rescue them.

What it’s like

Big, glossy and kinetic, with sun-bleached desert exteriors that give way to dim, shadowed interiors and the cool blue-grey of night-vision and surveillance footage. Wide establishing shots of dust-swept Middle Eastern towns and mountain roads sit beside tight, fast-cut action sequences shot in a clean digital sheen, with slow-motion moments that linger on bodies in motion. The score is loud and percussive, built on dhol beats and bursts of orchestral swell, while quieter scenes lean on soft lamplight and intimate close-ups of its leads. The vibe is heroic and bombastic, with a warm, tender undercurrent of romance and family loyalty. It suits a Friday night with friends, a big-screen crowd, or a loud, feel-good evening in. The pacing is brisk and sometimes reckless, moving from song to siege to chase with little pause, and its emotional register swings between swagger and sentiment. Its central figures move from guardedness toward protectiveness and shared loyalty. Violence is frequent and stylised: gunfights, explosions and hand-to-hand combat, with blood kept to a minimum and little gore, but the tension of a hostage siege runs throughout. It is for viewers who want spectacle, star presence and a crowd-pleasing rescue with heart.
