The story

Welcome Home is being touted as a psychological drama with lots of thrills. The movie follows a pregnant woman living in a house. She is visited by a few other ladies presumably some officials and ask her about her lifestyle.

What it’s like

Rural Indian countryside under heavy monsoon skies, where a thunderstorm can roll in and turn an ordinary house into a closed, anxious space. Scooters arrive on dirt tracks, and polite visitors sit across from a pregnant woman with questions that feel increasingly probing, so the quiet of each visit slowly tightens into unease. The register is psychological drama with thriller pressure: a slow build, rising suspicion, and small domestic exchanges that carry more weight than they first seem to. Expect a grim, tense atmosphere rather than a cozy one. The violence is brutal when it arrives, and the material includes incest, so this is not gentle viewing. Loosely based on a true story, it runs with a revenge thread beneath its surface. It suits a late-night, lights-low sitting with the storm audible outside, and it is for viewers who want dread and moral discomfort over spectacle and can sit with harsh subject matter.
