The story

A timid, anime-loving teen gets drawn into a school cycling club, where his new friends help him face tough challenges to develop his racing talent.

What it’s like

Bright, saturated animation with bold cel-shaded colour, exaggerated comic expressions, and sudden shifts into glossy, sweeping shots of mountain roads and sunlit tarmac whenever the racing starts. Its sound is a loud, upbeat mix of driving guitar-pop openings, cheerful bell-and-synth comic cues, and the hiss of tyres and heavy breathing during climbs. The vibe is energetic and goofy, with a warm, earnest heart: a comedy of sweaty enthusiasm that tips into wide-eyed sporting drama. Episodes move quickly, mixing gags and self-deprecating asides with long, strained stretches of hill climbing and tactical talk between teammates. Its emotional register is sincere and cheerful; the central arc follows an awkward, bookish boy slowly gaining confidence and a sense of belonging among a group of rivals who become friends. Intensity is low: there is no gore or real cruelty, and the stakes are competitive rather than dangerous, though races can feel tense and some scenes lean into dramatic shouting and tears. It suits a lively weekend binge, a comfort rewatch when you want something upbeat, or background watching while doing something active. It is for people who enjoy sports anime, rivalry-driven team stories, and good-natured high school comedy.
