The story

The provocative story of Cole, a time traveler from a decimated future in a high-stakes race against the clock. Utilizing a dangerous and untested method of time travel, he journeys from 2043 to the present day on a mission to locate and eradicate the source of a deadly plague that will all but annihilate the human race.

What it’s like

Cold, desaturated futures set against warm, ordinary present-day interiors give this series its visual push-pull: bleak ruined cityscapes and sterile underground labs in washed-out greys and steel blues, then sun-faded streets, wood-panelled rooms and rain-slick pavements in amber and muted green. The camera stays fairly controlled, with steady mid-shots, tight handheld moments during chases, and frequent overhead or wide framing of empty corridors that makes the world feel quietly hollowed out. Synth-tinged drones and low pulsing bass carry the tension, dropping to near silence in the emotional beats. Vibe: anxious, melancholic, cerebral, with a persistent sense of dread beneath the puzzle-box plotting. Pacing is brisk, built around cliffhangers and time-loop revelations, and the emotional register leans on loneliness and guilt, following a traumatised man slowly learning to trust the people around him while the clock runs out. Violence is moderate: occasional shootouts and fights, some bloodshed, and disease-related deaths and sickness that feel grim rather than gory. It suits a late-night binge for viewers who like serialised sci-fi with an emotional core and don't mind a heavy atmosphere.
