The story

A contemporary, ensemble drama that tells the complex tale of six high school students whose lives are interwoven with situations that so many of today's youth are faced with. The story takes place during a normal school day. At precisely 2:37, a tragedy will occur affecting the lives of a group of students and their teachers.

What it’s like

Handheld, close camera stays at the shoulder of teenagers moving through corridors, toilets, and sports fields under flat daylight and fluorescent hallway glare. The palette is muted and suburban: grey lockers, beige walls, school uniforms, and the bright glow of phone screens. Sound is mostly diegetic chatter, bells, and traffic with little score, so silences land hard. The pacing is restless and fragmented, cutting between six interlinked students across one ordinary school day, with a clock-driven dread that tightens toward a fixed moment in the afternoon. The vibe is raw, anxious and bleak, the register of unguarded adolescence, with flickers of tenderness and humour set against cruelty. Intensity is high and unsparing: a suicide sits at the centre, and rape, sexual content, drug use, pregnancy and incest recur through the storylines. Violence is brief but its aftermath is heavy, not gory. Not suited to anyone wanting something gentle. For viewers drawn to uncompromising youth dramas and ensemble realism who can sit with hard material.
