The story
Tessa Young is a dedicated student, dutiful daughter and loyal girlfriend to her high school sweetheart. Entering her first semester of college, Tessa's guarded world opens up when she meets Hardin Scott, a mysterious and brooding rebel who makes her question all she thought she knew about herself -- and what she wants out of life.
What it’s like
Warm, saturated campus light and glossy, slightly overlit college interiors give this one a bright, polished teen-romance surface, with plenty of close two-shots, shallow-focus glances, and moody night scenes lit by lamps and rain-streaked windows. The score leans on sweeping piano and pop-rock swells that rise under every charged moment, and the pacing is brisk and emotionally insistent, cutting quickly between dorm life, parties, and tense arguments. Its vibe is glamorous, heated, and melodramatic, best suited to a late-night comfort watch or a weekend with friends who want something swoony and dramatic. Intensity is moderate: some drinking, sexual situations and suggestive scenes, raised voices, and volatile, controlling behaviour that the story frames as romance, with no graphic violence and little gore. It lands as emotionally charged rather than frightening. Made for viewers who enjoy intense, dramatic young-adult love stories and don't mind a tempestuous, bad-boy dynamic at the centre.
