The story

Newly-appointed Special Agent Mizuki and her AI partner Aiba are tasked to solve the bizarre Half Body serial killings in this sequel to the critically acclaimed AI: The Somnium Files.

What it’s like

Anime character portraits sit over detailed, cool-toned backgrounds, with neon signs and rain-slick night streets giving the city a glowing, lonely feel, and glitchy digital overlays flicker in during the investigation scenes. The score is a restless blend of synth pulses and sparse electronic tension that thickens at the grisly moments. Play is slow and text-heavy, broken up by puzzle sequences that reshape the mood into something dreamlike and disorienting. The tone is dark, clinical and uneasy, with a detective's dread running under the procedural pace. Violence is present and often graphic: crime-scene imagery is grisly, and the body-horror concept lands hard, with some frank sexual content and adult themes throughout. It suits late-night play, long sessions with headphones, and anyone who likes a murder mystery that is strange, talky and visually stylish. It is not gentle or light, and it is not a good fit for anyone wanting calm.
