The story

Two contract killer from Uttar Pradesh, Babu Bihari and Banke Bihari who are often paid to bump off the same game, cross each other's path and end up fighting with each other.

What it’s like

Dusty small-town roads, flat midday sun and grimy interiors give this a gritty, sun-bleached look, shot with restless handheld camera that stays close to its characters as they scheme, bicker and stumble into trouble. The mood swings between wry, deadpan comedy and sudden, sharp bursts of gunfire and bloody violence, which arrive without much warning and are played for jolts rather than lingering gore. Its score leans on jaunty, cheeky music that undercuts the menace, so the tension always feels close to absurd. The pacing is brisk and scrappy, with scenes that cut quickly and rarely hold still. Its central pair are two bumbling, hot-headed hitmen whose rivalry escalates into a series of messy, increasingly ridiculous face-offs, and the emotional register stays cynical and irreverent, with flashes of unexpected tenderness under the bravado. Violence is frequent and often brutal, with some sexual references and crude language, so it does not suit anyone seeking something gentle. It suits viewers who enjoy dark crime comedy with a rough, unpolished texture, and late-night watchers who like their action mean, funny and a little chaotic.
