The story

After her daughter is kidnapped, a lawyer is forced to defend a criminal in exchange for her daughter's freedom.

What it’s like

Glossy, high-contrast digital cinematography with cool blue-grey courtrooms, sodium-lit Mumbai streets and night roads, and tight close-ups that keep the lead's face in focus while everything behind her blurs. The mood is taut and urgent, with bursts of action scored by thudding percussion and synth swells, then sudden quiet in the stillness of a hospital corridor or a lawyer's empty office. Its vibe is anxious, adrenaline-driven, and stylish, the kind of watch that suits a weekend evening when you want to be pulled along rather than to think too hard. The pacing is brisk, with many short scenes cutting between legal tension and street-level danger, and the emotional register runs from raw maternal panic to cold resolve. A woman's fierce determination is pushed against a morally compromised situation, and the arc turns on how far she will bend her principles. Violence is present and fairly frequent: gunfights, fistfights, and chases, with some blood and impact but no sustained gore. Fear and threat to a child drive much of the suspense, and there is some emotional cruelty. It suits viewers who enjoy Bollywood-style thrillers with big performances and kinetic set pieces, and who can handle an intense, sometimes harrowing, tone.
