The story

Return to the fantastical city of San Fransokyo where the affable, inflatable, inimitable healthcare companion robot, Baymax, sets out to do what he was programmed to do: help others.

What it’s like

Bright, saturated 3D animation with the glossy, rounded finish of a family-animation studio, set against the layered hills, bay views and neon-flecked streets of San Fransokyo, where sunlit plazas and warm evening windows give every episode a gentle glow. The camera stays close and friendly, favouring simple two-shots and soft reaction beats, while Baymax's puffy white body makes the frame feel soft and round. Sound is light and tuneful, with bouncy themes, chirpy effects and the robot's slow, earnest voice carrying most of the warmth. The vibe is cheerful, cosy and low-stakes, a good fit for a weekend morning, a child's screen time, or something easy to half-watch while folding laundry. Episodes are short and self-contained, moving briskly through small problems that get solved with kindness and a bit of silliness, and the emotional register stays sweet and reassuring. Intensity is very mild: some slapstick, a few brief scuffles and gadget mishaps, but no real violence, gore or fear. It suits younger viewers, families, and adults who want something gentle and uplifting.
