The story

Embark on an epic action-adventure to save the Kingdom of Avantia from ruin. Overcome the dark magic that has corrupted the noble Beasts of the realm. Battle in the mythical world, tackling challenges through stunning landscapes and a plethora of side missions and objectives. Unlock new abilities and upgrades to successfully combat varied opponents. Based on the best-selling fantasy novels, Beast Quest comes to console for the first time ever, with a rich, progressive storyline, vibrant settings, and an excess of compelling challenges.

What it’s like

Bright, storybook fantasy with saturated greens, sunlit meadows and gold-tinged ruins, the kind of colour that reads as a children's illustration brought to life. Third-person camera trails a hero across open landscapes, with the sense of scale carried by distant peaks and wide valleys rather than dread. The soundscape leans on orchestral fanfare and gentle adventure cues, with combat that clatters and rings without much grit. Vibe: cheerful, earnest, lightly heroic, the sort of world you wander through on a lazy afternoon or leave running while you tidy up. Pacing is episodic and open-ended, built from side tasks and upgrade loops, with a steady rhythm of exploration, short skirmishes and small rewards. Emotional register stays warm and uncomplicated, following a young protagonist gaining confidence and earning the trust of the realm's creatures. Intensity is low to moderate: stylised battles against monsters with cartoonish impact, no gore, no sexual content, little real threat. Suited to younger players, families, and anyone who wants a cosy, undemanding fantasy romp with a clear sense of progress.
