The story

Local rebellious teenager Clotaire falls for his schoolmate Jackie, but gang violence leads him to a darker destructive path. After years apart, the star-crossed lovers discover that every path they've taken leads them back together.

What it’s like

Warm, sun-faded suburban nostalgia, with the glow of 1990s provincial France and the loose, sweeping energy of a romance that refuses to settle into one mood. Its textures lean toward open-air evenings, heat on pavement, and rooms lit by lamps and screens, with pop songs that break into full musical sequences and lift the emotion. The tone is sincere and tender, with comic lightness running alongside a darker undercurrent of local gang trouble and rough choices. Violence arrives in brief, sharp outbursts, including fights and crime-driven danger, and it lands as a jolt rather than lingering gore, though the film is not gentle throughout. Romantic and sexual content is present but not explicit. The pacing moves in long, unhurried stretches broken by abrupt shifts across years, so the rhythm feels like memory. It suits a rainy weekend or a late-night comfort watch for viewers who love big, heartfelt love stories, melancholy romance, and music-driven emotion, and who can handle a crime-tinged backdrop.
