The story
Alex and his sister run a business designed to break up relationships. They are hired by a rich man to break up the wedding of his daughter. The only problem is that they only have one week to do so.
What it’s like
Bright, sun-warmed Parisian interiors and wide, glossy exteriors of the New Jersey-style rich-family world give this a polished, daylight look, with bouncing handheld camerawork and quick cuts that keep the comedy snappy without ever feeling frantic. The palette leans on pastel wedding decor, cream and gold dining rooms, and the kind of crisp suits and sundresses that look good in a warm, unhurried frame. Its sound is a light, buoyant mix of pop-leaning score and playful needle-drops, with plenty of banter in the foreground. The vibe is breezy, cheeky and warm, a feel-good romantic caper for a lazy weekend afternoon, a shared streaming night, or a light watch when you want to laugh without thinking too hard. Its emotional register stays sunny and amused: a cynical man and a skeptical woman trading barbs and gradually letting their guards down. Intensity is very low: mild innuendo and a few suggestive scenes, no real violence, no gore, nothing frightening. It suits viewers who want a charming, low-stakes romantic comedy with a sharp, teasing edge.
