The story

As a lionhearted boy who can't wield magic strives for the title of Wizard King, four banished Wizard Kings of yore return to crush the Clover Kingdom.

What it’s like

Bright, saturated animation with bold inked outlines, high-contrast shadows and blazing magical effects: sword strokes trailing light, glowing sigils, and sprawling fantasy cityscapes under open skies. The score leans on swelling orchestral brass and driving percussion, with choral swells during big reveals and quieter string passages when characters catch their breath. The vibe is earnest, high-energy and sincere, a loud, joyful adventure that treats friendship and determination as serious business. Pacing is brisk and set-piece driven, with long stretches of kinetic fights that cut quickly between wide shots and close-ups of clenched expressions. Emotionally the register is hopeful and underdog-driven: a boy without magic keeps pushing against people who doubt him, and the film builds toward a rallying, triumphant finish. Violence is frequent and stylised, with sword duels, explosions and battle damage, plus monsters and demonic menace; it is cartoonish rather than gory, but the stakes feel high. Suited to a Saturday-afternoon watch, to fans of shounen anime who want big spectacle, and to anyone who likes underdog stories with lots of action.
