The story
Blue Archive is a new RPG developed by Nexon Games, a subsidiary of Nexon Korea, and published and operated by Yostar(Japan), Nexon Korea(Global). In the game, players will guide various students to solve the events in the city in the Japanese animation style and create a character collection RPG with next-generation graphics and strategic elements.
What it’s like
Bright, saturated anime art fills the screen: pastel school uniforms, sunlit campus courtyards, and clean cel-shaded characters set against open skies and tidy streets of an oddly calm academy city. The soundtrack leans on bouncy J-pop-leaning tracks and gentle synth beats, with cheerful voice acting for every student, so the whole thing hums along upbeat and friendly. Play moves in short, tappable bursts: you collect and level up a roster of young girls, then field them in tactical grid battles that are frequent but rarely tense, and story chapters arrive as dialogue-heavy scenes with portraits blinking and bouncing in place. The mood is cheerful, a little silly, and low-stakes, with a light bond-building sweetness between the characters rather than real peril. Violence is stylised and cartoonish, with no gore, and the fights read as bright sprite-flashes and sparkly effects. It suits a casual phone session on the bus, a background game while half-watching TV, or a comfort-play evening. It is aimed at people who enjoy anime cuteness, collecting characters, and light tactics without heavy grind pressure.
