What it’s like
Tender, sorrowful romance with a steady undertow of grief, suited to a quiet evening when you want to feel something deeply without being left in despair. The mood tilts toward melancholy: the early warmth of a new attraction gradually gives way to heavier material about illness, loss and the damage of the past. Expect a slow, emotionally direct rhythm, with the drama built on conversations and private moments rather than spectacle, and a central pairing whose connection is tested by what each of them is carrying. The intensity is high on the emotional side, with serious themes of terminal illness, death, depression and trauma handled with real weight; the physical violence is not central, and the film stays focused on feeling. It suits viewers who want a bittersweet love story with a tearful payoff, and who are comfortable with an unflinching look at mortality and the pain people endure, rather than anything light or escapist.
