The story

Coming Out on Top places you in the role of college senior, Mark Matthews. You just came out of the closet and are ready to make up for lost time. With the help of your loyal roommates, play through six hilarious routes and ten unforgettable dates. Eighteen hot guys are waiting for you to win them over.

What it’s like

Bright, flat cartoon art in the style of a casual visual novel, with saturated campus colors, sunny dorm rooms, bars lit in warm amber and pastel, and bold character sprites that stand against plain backgrounds. The mood is light and playful, a cheeky dating sim with a comedic streak rather than anything moody. Expect frequent static portraits, quick text-driven exchanges, and an upbeat, bouncy feel that suits a lazy afternoon, a comfort replay, or a stretch of playing while half-distracted. The pace is brisk and dialogue-led, with short scenes building toward dates and route endings. Emotionally it stays breezy and self-deprecating, following a newly out student flirting his way through college, with humor doing most of the work. Intensity is low on violence and fear, but sexual content and nudity are explicit and frequent, including adult scenes that are part of its dating-sim structure. It is aimed at adults who want a lighthearted, romantic comedy through a choose-your-path game, especially fans of queer dating sims.
