The story

Young CIA analyst Joe Turner has his idealism tested when he learns that the CIA has been using an algorithm he developed to spy on American citizens, leading the organization to a terrorist plot that threatens the lives of millions. Inspired by Sydney Pollack’s 1975 political thriller Three Days of the Condor.

What it’s like

Cool, rain-slicked and tightly lit, with a restless, paranoid texture: cramped CIA offices under flat fluorescent light, dim safe houses, and night streets washed in sodium orange and blue. Camera work leans on controlled handheld movement and close two-shots that make rooms feel like they are closing in, while the score pulses with low synth throbs and tense string swells that sharpen during chase sequences. The vibe is anxious, cerebral and quietly urgent, a series that suits a late-night binge when you want to feel the weight of institutional secrecy. Pacing is brisk and serialized, with each episode ending on a hook, and the emotional arc follows an idealistic young analyst gradually losing faith in the agency he serves. Intensity is moderate: some gunfire, brief sudden violence and chase tension, with little gore and no sexual content. It is for viewers who enjoy political thrillers about surveillance and moral compromise, and who like grounded espionage without much spectacle.
