The story
Scrooge McDuck is hot on the trail of the richest adventure ever. Pieces to the map of the Lost Treasure of McDuck have been scattered across the globe, and Scrooge must find them before the greedy Flintheart Glomgold grabs them. It's going to be a race to the finish as both of them try to find the treasure and become the richest duck in the world! Join Scrooge and his nephews as they explore the ancient pyramids of Egypt and do battle with swash-buckling pirates in the Bermuda Triangle. Help them search the haunted halls of an ancient Scottish castle and scale the watery heights of Niagara Falls. Aid Scrooge in his quest for the secret of the island of Mu and you'll gain the final clue to unravel the hidden location of the Lost Treasure of McDuck!
What it’s like
Bright, saturated 8-bit cartoon colours with chunky sprites that look hand-drawn for the NES: sun-baked Egyptian sand, cold Bermuda blues, murky castle stone, and the spray of a waterfall. The chiptune score bounces along with a cheerful, slightly brassy swagger, while the world map's quiet blips and clicks let the mood breathe between stages. Scrooge's cane bounce is the heart of the controls, satisfyingly springy when you pogo onto enemies or bounce off spikes, and the stages reward patient exploration with hidden treasure chests. Its vibe is playful adventure with a faint haunted-house chill, the sort of thing for a lazy afternoon, a comfort replay, or a bit of focused, low-pressure play. Enemies are cartoony and defeated by bonking, with no gore, and the spookier moments stay mild and goofy. Pacing is steady and stage-based, with clear goals and frequent boss encounters. The tone is light and warm, with Scrooge's greed played for laughs and his nephews providing easy company. It suits families, fans of the TV show, and anyone who wants a gentle, witty platformer with a retro charm.
