The story
A dethroned queen bee at a posh private high school strikes a secret deal with an unassuming new student to enact revenge on one another’s enemies.
What it’s like
Bright, saturated Florida-coast daylight and pastel-lit suburban excess, with sunny poolside sequences giving way to glossy, neon-tinged nighttime parties. The camera is busy and playful: quick cuts, split screens, bouncy tracking shots through school corridors, and self-aware freeze-frames that keep the mood snappy. The soundtrack leans on upbeat pop and needle-drop bangers, punctuated by cheeky, deadpan narration beats. The vibe is campy, sun-drenched and mischievous, with a sharp edge of teen scheming underneath the glitter. It suits a lazy afternoon, a sleepover, or a girls' night in with snacks and a rewatch. The pacing is brisk and the register is light, with a scheming, competitive friendship between two girls slowly softening into real loyalty, and a sweet, awkward romance running alongside. Intensity is low: some profanity, teen drinking and partying, sexual innuendo and a couple of brief make-out and bedroom scenes, plus slapstick and mild peril, but no real violence or gore. It is for viewers who want a fizzy, queer-inclusive teen comedy with a wink, and for anyone who enjoys sly, stylish satire of privilege and social hierarchy.
