The story

A woman with only a short time to live and a man with the supernatural power to bring the world to an end discover the true meaning of life and love.

What it’s like

Bright, saturated K-drama frames with a warm, slightly stylised sheen: sunlit apartments, pastel-lit cafés and a cool blue-grey palette for the darker moments of the apocalyptic threat. The camera stays mostly conversational, with close two-shots and soft focus on faces, and the music leans on sweet piano and gentle strings that swell during the sadder beats. The mood is bittersweet and whimsical, a comedy that keeps undercutting its own grief with bright, quirky banter. Its sense of impending loss sits close to the surface, with the characters' fear of time running out threading through the lighter scenes. Episodes move briskly, with a playful rhythm and emotional turns arriving at the ends of scenes. Its central figures begin guarded and gradually open to each other, while an unlucky, lovelorn romance tangles them into a love triangle. Intensity is low: there is some peril and a few tense moments, but no graphic violence, and the illness is handled with tenderness rather than clinical detail. Best for viewers who want a romantic, tearful, funny watch for a rainy evening or a comfort rewatch.
