The story

Hapless family man Paul Matthews finds his life turned upside down when millions of strangers suddenly start seeing him in their dreams. But when his nighttime appearances take a nightmarish turn, Paul is forced to navigate his newfound stardom.

What it’s like

Clean, bright suburban interiors with flat, even daylight give way to the uneasy glow of anonymous dreamscapes, where a mild-mannered man stands motionless in the middle of a crowd. Handheld close-ups catch the awkwardness of ordinary faces, and the camera lingers on small social humiliations in the way a sitcom might, before the frame tilts toward something stranger. The sound design is sparse, with muted domestic hum and the occasional swelling, eerie tone when the dreams turn. The mood is deadpan, anxious and absurd, a slow-burning unease with a dry, knowing sense of humour about fame and self-image. Its pace is steady and conversational, with long beats of quiet embarrassment followed by sharp shifts into dread. The central arc follows a meek, self-effacing everyman whose sudden visibility exposes how fragile his sense of self is. Intensity is moderate: some brief, cartoonish violence and disturbing dream imagery, with a sense of creeping menace rather than gore, and a few uncomfortable scenes of social cruelty. It suits viewers who enjoy satirical comedy with a psychological edge, a late-night watch, or anyone curious about the unsettling side of being noticed.
