The story
Reef Hawk, Hollywood's poster child since age six, is not okay. When he learns about an extortion plot tied to a mysterious video, Reef preemptively sets out on a redemption tour to make amends, confront his demons, and avoid getting canceled.
What it’s like
Wry, unsettled comedy with a drama's undertow, the kind of film that stays in an anxious, self-aware register rather than tipping into slapstick. Its sense of place comes from the Hollywood world it skewers: industry chatter, publicity gloss and the thin composure of someone performing contrition. The mood is baffled and a little raw, with a central question of how much of a public self can be repaired after a childhood spent in front of cameras. Pacing reads as brisk and talky, built on the escalating absurdity of a blackmail video and a reputation hanging on it, and the emotional arc follows a famous man who has grown up inside his own image and is slowly forced to face the damage underneath it. It carries no obvious gore or sexual content; the tension is psychological, with fear of exposure, shame and fame-driven pressure doing the work. A during-credits stinger rewards people who stay to the end. Best for viewers who enjoy satire of celebrity culture, cancel-culture anxiety and dark humour, and who are comfortable with discomfort rather than seeking something gentle.
