The story
Pigsy's Perfect 10 is a downloadable expansion to Enslaved: Odyssey to the West. It is a prequel to the main story where players take control of the character Pigsy.
What it’s like
Dusty post-apocalyptic ruins bathed in hazy amber light, with the overgrown skyline of a collapsed future rendered in Ninja Theory's painterly, stylised palette of rust, ochre and sickly green. The sound is a mix of crunching metal, distant wind over empty city streets and a restrained, slightly melancholy score that swells during combat and falls quiet between set pieces. Played from a close third-person camera, the game moves at the pace of a brisk, slightly cheeky action-platformer: scrambling along ledges, smashing through enemies with heavy melee strikes, and solving light environmental puzzles. Its tone is wry and buoyant, with quips and banter that keep the mood playful even when the surroundings turn bleak, and its emotional arc follows a gruff, self-serving character gradually finding a reason to care about others. Violence is frequent but stylised: combat is physical and cartoonish, with brief bursts of blood and no gore to speak of, and there is some peril and fear rather than horror. It suits an evening of straightforward action, a weekend session with a controller in hand, or fans of the Enslaved world who want to see its supporting cast from a lighter, more comic angle.
