The story
Find out what unlikely events take place in this alternate history region of Slovak Highlands. This land is ravaged by Hussite pillagers and Ottoman spies while surreal horrors dwell in the dark. It's now up to Pavol, a fair knight with alcohol problems, to gather a party and stop those who oppose our kingdom.
What it’s like
Dim, muddy-toned 2D scenes of fortified villages, forest tracks and river valleys, lit like late afternoon going to dusk, with fog and shadow doing much of the work. The mood is dark fantasy with an alternate-history flavour: a worn medieval countryside where the old certainties feel slightly off and something uncanny sits just past the edge of the lamplight. Expect a low, brooding score and long stretches of quiet travel that give way to tense, turn-based skirmishes, with the sound of a deserted hamlet or a creaking wagon doing as much unsettling work as any music. Vibe: melancholy, uneasy, weighted with grim humour. It suits a late evening at the desk, a slow session with a controller in hand, or a stretch of time when you want a story that rewards patience. The pacing is deliberate, with each new encounter and each gathered companion adding to a sense of a region under pressure. The central figure is a flawed, decent knight whose self-doubt and drinking shape how he leads, and the arc is about holding a scattered group together against outside threats and private dread. Violence is present in combat against raiders and monsters, and horror comes through dread and strangeness more than constant gore. Best for players who enjoy mystery-driven RPGs, historical grit and bleak atmosphere, and who don't mind a heavy, uneasy tone.
