The story

Duskfade is a colorful adventure in a world where the torments of the past haunt you. Battle against your memories in a dizzying dance to fade the shadows of the dusk.

What it’s like

Sun-washed, painterly 2D art with bold, saturated colour, and the sense of a world that is always slightly fading at its edges as dusk settles over it. The soundtrack carries the mood: warm, melodic chiptune-adjacent pulses that thin out into quiet pads as the light goes. Movement is quick and springy, with dodges and combo strings that feel light in the hands, and the rhythm of play swings between brisk platforming and stretches of wandering through hushed, lantern-lit spaces. The emotional register is wistful and bittersweet rather than grim, following a protagonist who keeps running into memories of what they lost and slowly learning to face them. Violence is stylised combat against shadowy foes, present throughout but cartoonish and without gore. Best suited to players who want a vivid, melancholy action-adventure for an evening session, and to those who enjoy games where atmosphere and movement carry as much weight as story.
