The story

An ex-special forces operative takes a job to provide security for a journalist as she interviews a dictator, but a military coup breaks out in the middle of the interview, they are forced to escape into the jungle where they must survive.

What it’s like

Bright, sun-bleached Colombian and jungle-edge locations give this one a warm, saturated look, with humid greens, dusty roads and hotel-lobby pastels under hard daylight, and the camera stays close and kinetic during the chases while leaning into comic two-shots when the pair are simply talking. The score is a driving, synth-tinged action beat that drops away for quieter exchanges, and the sound design favors gunfire cracks and rotor thrum over anything gory. Its vibe is breezy, amused and exhilarated, a loose, playful thriller with a cozy-adventure tilt, good for a weekend night, a lazy streaming session or a light-hearted escape. The pacing is brisk, with frequent pivots from banter to bursts of action, and the emotional register stays easygoing: a mismatched pair of strangers gradually warming to each other through shared danger. The violence is frequent and action-movie stylized, with shootouts and fistfights that are rarely graphic or lingering, and the tone is fun rather than frightening or cruel. It suits viewers who want a crowd-pleasing action comedy with a smile running through the mayhem and a stinger to tease the sequel.
