The story

A teenager tells outrageous lies at his new high school, only to have them suddenly come true.

What it’s like

Bright, flat suburban daylight and bland school corridors, the look of a mid-2000s teen comedy: clean digital images, saturated lockers and lawns, lots of medium two-shots and reaction close-ups that let the cast mug for the camera. The mood is light and breezy with a snap of mischief, the kind of easy company that works for a lazy afternoon, a comfort rewatch, or background while folding laundry. Pacing is brisk and sitcom-tidy, with jokes landing quickly and scenes cutting before they overstay. The emotional register stays warm and playful, and its central arc follows a restless boy learning that big fibs cost more than he expected and that the people around him matter more than the image he builds. Intensity is low: mild crude humour and some teen-party awkwardness, with no meaningful violence, gore, or fear, and sexual content limited to innuendo and adolescent flirting. It suits viewers who want gentle, good-natured teen comedy with a bit of heart and no real darkness.
