The story

Popular high schoolers and best friends Shawn and Nick decide to ditch football camp for cheerleader camp. For the girls and for the glory.

What it’s like

Bright, flat suburban daylight and saturated high school colours: gym floors, pastel team uniforms, sunny backyards and a lot of bouncy, mid-range comedy framing with few flourishes, so the picture stays clean and unfussy. Sound is pop-rock and upbeat needle-drops over quick cuts, with dialogue-driven scenes that carry the energy. The vibe is goofy, sunny and irreverent, a light sex comedy with a broad, easygoing rhythm and short gags that land fast and move on. Its arcs follow two lifelong best friends who learn to take themselves a little less seriously, and the tone stays warm and bawdy rather than mean. Sexual content is frequent and crude in a juvenile way (innuendo, nudity, locker-room humour), with some mild comic bodily gags and occasional bullying played for laughs; violence is minimal and cartoonish. It suits a lazy weekend afternoon or a light night in with friends, and it is for people who want an undemanding, raunchy romp with a cheery, gender-flipped premise and a bonus gag or two after the credits.
