The story

The story of Golden Sun: The Lost Age picks up right near the end of the first game. Golden Sun veterans will be surprised to learn that The Lost Age is played from the point of view of the party being chased as they try to light the remaining two lighthouses, which will unlock the power of alchemy for the world--or will it instead unlock the world's destruction? * LAN PVP mode via GBA Game Link Cable

What it’s like

Warm, handmade pixel art on a Game Boy Advance screen, with painted towns in amber and lantern light, snowfields that go pale and quiet, and dungeons lit by glowing psynergy. The soundtrack is bright, melodic and orchestral-leaning, with gentle town themes and swelling battle music. Turn-based battles play out with flashy summon sequences and quick, low-key minigames between fights. The mood is an adventurous, wistful journey: a travelling party moving through a changing landscape while the world feels increasingly unsettled. Its pacing is steady and unhurried, built around exploring, puzzle-solving and grinding a little for the next boss. Violence is cartoonish fantasy combat with brief enemy defeats, sparse blood and no gore, though characters can fall in battle and be revived. Peril and tension build gradually rather than through horror. It suits a long afternoon, a comfort replay, or a late-night session with headphones on. It is for players who enjoy classic handheld RPGs, lush sprite worlds and a slow, earnest adventure with a friendly tone.
